The Start of editing is putting the clips we have together in various different ways. In this music video of "Good Time" by Owl City and Carley Rae Jepsen we have to use quick cuts to the beats of the music.To do this we can use Andrew Goodwin's theory Thought Beats for the right time to cut. Carol Vernallis believed the theory of a music video has 4 key concepts of Narrative,Editing, Camera movement/framing and diegesis. Our narrative is getting up and having a good time throughout a day. The Diegesis is revealed slowly throughout the day by cutting it to a bedroom, shopping centre and a fair. We have edited to show that every new part of the music video is shown by an effect E.G. A FADE. which is shown being used below.
