Advert Analysis
The Bess album titled as "FREE THE BEES" is an intriguing advert that stands out.
The album's title is placed in the bottom half of the page, the name of the album is written on a cloth banner which stands out from the rest of the picture to draw your attention to it, this is because the artist waned you to notice the picture but focus on the name of the album so you would know what the album cover looks like for any potential purchases.
At the bottom of the page there is a small part of text stating a few songs which would be featured on the album, the album's release date, website information and the record company which is publishing the album, which is Virgin Records.
The main focus of the picture which takes up more than half of the page is the tree, the tree is shaped on top of another image. The image in the background which the tree has been placed to cover yet show is of a bar; the evidence the i have tried to gather form the photo to support this is that the truck of the tree is a table, and in the middle of the tree their are two tubs of nuts. Further in the background there looks to be a window wich is reflecting the lighting within the establishment and also some of the signs on another window.
The whole bar scene could link into the bands genre as a Rock band and that of being British origin.
As the typical rock band would not past up the opportunity to have a drink unless there was something more pressing to complete and that the band is British; being British partially means getting drunk on a friday night.
Without looking deeper into the picture to see what images have been placed over the background image, we can see a number of other images have been used which may have some, a lot or no relevance to the band or the album.
The biggest images pasted over the background which is on top of the tree are the band themselves.
The six members of the band are all placed at the top of the tree with each playing their respective instruments with the lead singer being at the top with a microphone and his guitar.
The colours used in the advert are white and different shades of red from the background photo.
The red and white colours could again link into their English nationality as those colour are the colours of the English national flag. It could also just be the colours of the place which they have taken the picture as typical night life would include colours such as red, orange, blue, purple and even green.
